1995-2005: Ten years of listing on the Stock Exchange - Letter from the CEO
Rome, July 17th2005
Dear Shareholders,
Many of you remember, I am sure, that on July 17th 1995 Bulgari was the first Italian luxury company to be listed on the Italian Stock Exchange at 1.11 Euro per share.
Today, ten years later, I am pleased to celebrate with you this anniversary and to recall together the results achieved by Your Company up to now.
Since then, in fact, we have been undertaking an expansion plan of the distribution network and a product diversification process in a well-balanced, synergic and innovative way. These projects allowed us to:
- quadruple the turnover, to quintuple the net profit, to multiply by nine the market capitalization, and to distribute dividends of over 217 million Euro;
- expand the distribution network from 36 to almost 200 stores, shaping a leading group in the luxury market which is directly present in 22 countries and indirectly in another 80 countries;
- face sometimes challenging macro-economic trends thanks to the strength of team work and also the reinforcement of the organisation;
- evolve from a mainly trading firm, with about 500 employees in 1995, to a company, which today can rely on manufacturing activities with more than 2,500 people.
In particular it is worth underlining that these important goals were accomplished by preserving and reinforcing the exclusivity and the prestige of the BVLGARI brand.
In conclusion, I would like to thank you for the confidence you have always placed in our strategies and our management during this decade and I am sure in the future Bulgari will continue to focus on ambitious targets and to work with steady commitment to achieve them.
Yours sincerely,
Francesco Trapani
